Loch Ness is the bigger freshwater lake in the United Kingdom. It is about 40 kilometres long, 2,5 wide and 135 metres deep. Some people think that a monster lives there. The monster is called Nessie.

The fist story about the Loch Ness Monster was written in the year 565. This fist story says that Saint Coloma saved a swimmer from the monster.

On May the 2, 1933, a British newspaper, the Inverness Courier, printed a story about an extraordinary Experience in Scotland. Mr. and Mrs. Mackay saw a monster in Loch Ness on April 14. The Loch Ness monster, Nessie, became an international star all over the world.
